Grape Juice Foam Bits

Today’s breakfast juice: 1 pear, 2 yellow apples, 1/2 cucumber, 3-4 Romaine leaves, handful of Concord grapes.

The Concord grapes I bought from the farm stand yesterday smelled heavenly. It reminded me of the grapes my mother had grown in her garden.

After juicing, I skimmed off the foam with a soup spoon and strained the juice with my slotted stir fry spoon. I do need to get an actual strainer – the slotted wok/stir fry spoon doesn’t cut it to get all the bits out. Sometimes I don’t mind having fruit & vegetable bits in my juice, but I do prefer my juice smooth. This netted me 2 3/4 cups of juice.

This juice tasted mainly like grapes. It was only a handful used, but that was all it needed. Next time, I will use a bit less of the grapes because it overpowered everything else. On the other hand, it was delicious and could be a great way to sneak in veggies to juice for your family if they are not fond of the veggie tasting juices yet you still want to get them the nutrients.

Let me try this again. I was saying that I loved juicing!
It was my sister who got me to juice, and it is her saving grace. She had been doing it long before she came down with her cancer diagnosis, which we believe was caused by Radon. She does mostly green juicing but also tons of carrots (at one point 15 lbs a day) but she had cut down due to it being more difficult to move now. We believe she is alive because of her eating habits. After two years of being ill, we feel blessed to still have her with us and still have hope! Thanks for the delicious recipe!

I can’t imagine juicing 15 lbs of carrots! Cancer stinks, I’m sorry your sister has it but glad she has healthy eating habits. I do like to rotate my greens but when getting produce at a farm stand, you do have to eat seasonally.
